Blockbuster Sued Over Role in Facebook’s Beacon Program

Quietly, the first civil lawsuit has been filed regarding Facebook’s Beacon platform (an addable program which arguably compromises users’ privacy and turns them into unwitting agents of corporate advertising). A Texas woman is suing Blockbuster for revealing her movie rental history without her consent via Beacon. Facebook itself was not named in the suit.
