Dumb Christians Pray For Lower Gas Prices

This past April, Maryland preacher Rocky Twyman began holding prayer circles, in which Christians pray for lower gas prices, at Washington, D.C. gas stations. Since then, he has spread his movement to Florida, Ohio, and California. Apparently God hates the devout, because gas prices have only gone up at Twyman’s prayer sites. The Washington Post article is a bounty of quotes which arguably demonstate why America is so screwed in the first place; “Our pockets are empty, but we’re going to hold on to God!” Twyman is quoted as saying, as he and followers hold hands and sang, pleading for divine intervention to lower fuel prices. Mirrine Thorne, a mother of four who pulled into a gas station as Twyman’s group prayed, says, “I think it’s a wonderful thing. Nobody else is doing anything,” but “God is going to do something.”
