"Chemical castration" is usually a BS term used by alarmists, and people selling ad space on websites. For shame, disinfo...

"Chemical castration" in this case is Depo Provera. Thats it. Its the "every 3 month injection" form of birth control used by millions of women around the world for years. There are few long-term side effects. After 6 months youre back to normal.

It just so happens that the effects on a male are an almost complete shutdown of the sex drive. For 3 months. Then it wears off. All that is happening is men who have a "malformed" sex drive that cuases them to desire children will have thier sex drive chemically and REVERSIBLY reduced as a condition of release into society.

I'd think murder would be worse. You mate with someone who is considered underage in you country, even though it's acceptable in others, and you are a terrible monster. You take someone's life, and "Meh, shit happens".

Also, they can still mate with kids. Sure, their libido is lowered, or even their "tubes will be tied", but they can still abuse a child. This is not a solution for anything.

Also, consider this scenario- You're in your early 20s, and you're in a party. You're drunk. You see someone there, lookin' fine, and because you're both sluts, you have sex. It turns out the other one was underage, but you can't really tell from their body. The day after, you're arrested, and put in a jail for, say, 10 years for the rape of a minor. And then they castrate you. Oh, and they label you a monster. A sex-monster. You will hardly be able to get a job, you didn't really have a job, no community will accept you, you can't raise a family, you have no friends. Your life is pretty much over.

Oh, and the drunk minor is now married or something, living well.

One of the most sick things I've ever herd of being done to a person. They serve their time in jail… then have their dick melted off?
Are people in Poland even fucking human? I'll fucking fight in any war or any battle to see this can never happen to anybody.
The crime may be horrible, one of the worst crimes one can possibly think of… but a government enforcing such a grotesque means of punishment… is wrong in any society. A government enforcing a law like that is almost as bad as the people committing the crimes.

It is known that most pedophiles have been victims of child abuse themselves.

It is often such a traumatic experience for a child, that it alters their whole view of life and they often never recover emotionally and intellectually.

When they are victims of abuse by family members - they feel a sense of betrayal and trust .
Plus they are threatened sometimes not to speak to anyone about what has happened so they have to keep
this troubling secret to themselves.

Some become obsessed by what has happened to them and when they get older they sometimes think it normal to do similar things to children.

It is just a sad vicious circle, made even worse by them being demonized.

They need counselling and special care and accommodation.
I sometimes get a bit angry with them myself but only because I am unable to interfere to prevent abuse of children in their care.
But we should not think of pedophiles as evil people, we should think of them mostly as victims of child abuse who have grown up and are unable to cope with their confused sexuality.
I do think they should be excluded from physical contact with children, though some of them prefer the company of children who they feel better able to relate to than adults.

Grotesque and disgusting to chemically castrate someone who rapes a child, perhaps more than once? many people would agree to it, particularly those who've known someone who was molested or was themselves. I think it would depend, as all things, on the circumstances, but I agree with the closing statement that sometimes human rights can be suspended when someone has grossly violated the rights of others. Its also a bit of a blanket statement to say that anyone supporting this should be themselves castrated. there are many people in the world who ought to be prevented from breeding, but this doesnt strike me as a good reason for it.
