TechCrunch (which we at Disinfo are big fans of) confirmed it is supposed to say “Google” but some conflict in that found if you read their post.

As a book publisher, I have a barcode reader too, it's the sign of the BEAST! (ahem, international commerce…)

I happen to have a barcode reader handy, and the barcode does, in fact, read as “Google.” And yes, I am a geek.
