When I have debated Muslims, I noticed a few things

1. The Quran groups people as Muslims, Jews, Christians and Mushricks. A mushrick is a polytheist. Muslims do not believe atheists exist, because the Quran does not mention atheists, the Quran mentions mushriks. They insist atheists worship energy, worship the universe, worship memes, or worship themselves. Muslims deny the existence of atheists. Just go to google and do a seach "Atheists are polytheists"

2. When I finally get a Muslim to understand that atheists do exist, they regurgitate the same old Christian propaganda (every painting must have a painter) (how could something come out of nothing) bla bla bla

This is from the New York Times?? The guy must been hung over and had some editor tell him he needed a piece on Islam asap or something. This is a mess. It should be noted that both The Bible and The Koran state that God (Allah) created the Earth in six days and go on to state that for the supreme being a day could be a thousand years or more. The point of this article seems to be that only recently has the idea of an older than 6,000 year old Earth existed in Islam and that because of differences in faith Christian fundamentalists have to believe the Earth is 6,000 years old. Both of which are wrong. Christians, Muslims, and Jews are all of the same religion no matter what they might say, I wish we could accept that and get past it.
