Wait, so maintaining a network of over 700 military bases overseas, firing off $600,000 Tomahawk missiles willy nilly, spending 30 years designing sci-fi missile defense systems, and other such activities aren't efficient uses of our resources?

Next someone will say that the shop-till-you-drop military spending spree/cold war stand-off wasn't a good idea!

It is satisfying to see a study verifying what intuitively makes sense.
