Scientist who heads WHO laboratory on influenza holds patent for bioengineered swine flu virus

The Information in this thread was brought forward by ApollonianFunMachine in this AboveTopSecret.com forum board thread. He joined ATS today. Both he and I agree that this information deserves a thread on its own.

what do you all think of this? I think these pages need to be preserved before they get spread far enough to be removed from view. Briefly, I will tell you how I came across this information, and some other startling revelations I stumbled onto afterwards. I was talking with a friend earlier about the patents issued for the swine flu viruses, and why I think the information on patents is the cornerstone for understanding why so many are deeply suspicious of the events surrounding this current “pandemic”. He asked me what I knew about the patents and what information I could share, and I quickly did a search and found the usual info that is circulating regarding Baxter’s and Novartis’ patents. Somehow, in a roundabout way I then came upon a site entitle “patentstorm”, did a search for swine flu, and came across the following: www.patentstorm.us… I’ve copied and pasted most of the rest of this document to the end of this email. Obviously, I was pretty stunned by what I was reading, and the timing of the application and publication. I’m not going to go into everything I’ve found because it’s time-consuming, and because I feel that others might have much more experienced researchers, resources, and contacts than I do. I will briefly share one thing I’ve turned up in a very brief period of time. Luckily, this document contains the names of the researchers who’ve filed it, which I will include here. I decided to look some of them up to see if I could find anything out about their careers online. Here is that information: Inventors * Palese, Peter * Garcia-Sastre, Adolfo * Webby, Richard J. * Richt, Juergen A. * Webster, Robert G. * Lager, Kelly M. Assignees * THE UNITED STATED OF AMERICA AS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE * St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital * MOUNT SINAI SCHOOL OF MEDICINE OF NEW YORK UNIVERSITY Hopefully your team can take over from here if you deem any of this to be pertinent information. I will point out that I looked up Richard J. Webby, and found that he has worked for the WHO and St Jude. Here is a brief bio stating his responsibilities and mention that he has been travelling to Switzerland (home of Novartis) ” twice a year to participate in vaccine strain selection meetings”. The bio can be found here, and it dates to Feb 2008. Of particular interest are the last two paragraphs: www.stjude.org… Now the real reason I’ve found Webby interesting is his name also brought me to a previous article, which I believe Alex Jhas mentioned on the show. I will also post the link to that article and the brief excerpt THAT JUMPED OFF THE PAGE AT ME. The reason is the wording that was used — “they created a PANDEMIC” etc. scitizen.com… suring-/ 11 Sep, 2006 Researchers from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, USA, have combined bird and human flu viruses in order to create a pandemic strain. They reported recently that the hybrid viruses are, at least for ferrets, relatively benign [1]. Richard Webby, virologist at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, comments on these results for Scitizen. Why is it interesting to combine genes from human flu virus and the H5N1 bird flu strain? What scenario is being tested? One of the reasons why we don’t have a lot of human pandemics with these avian strains is that they don’t generally grow very well in humans or transmit between them. One way that we know that these avian viruses can adapt to humans is by getting together with a human virus and mixing gene segments. If we look back at the last 2 human pandemics, the 1967 Asian Flu and the 1968 Hong Kong Flu, …[read the rest at AboveTopSecret.com]

The present invention relates, in general, to attenuated swine influenzaviruses having an impaired ability to antagonize the cellular interferon(IFN) response, and the use of such attenuated viruses in vaccine andpharmaceutical formulations. In particular, the invention relates toattenuated swine influenza viruses having modifications to a swine NS1gene that diminish or eliminate the ability of the NS1 gene product toantagonize the cellular IFN response. These viruses replicate in vivo, but demonstrate decreased replication, virulence and increasedattenuation, and therefore are well suited for use in live virusvaccines, and pharmaceutical formulations.
This is a copy of the patent abstract from the IPEXL website, as the patent writers are all involved in research relating to the medical applications of studying the swine influenza as a means of understanding why these viruses are so effective in replicating faster than the human immune system can respond to them, may I suggest that these are not mad scientists but rather physicians involved in the legitimate study of a genome in order to combat and counteract a deadly virus rather than proudly publish the fact that they have invented an evil super weapon?

That is probably the most likely scenario, I admit.

Still it is interesting to read a patent held by a WHO scientist that was published in January of 2009, pertaining to attenuated swine flu influenza virus. This would not be a concern to the rest of us until we learned of the Medimmune vaccine in summer of 09. Those same scientists have made interesting remarks about the relative ease with which the genes permitting interspecies transmissibility can be pinpointed and modified.

Anyway, without casting aspersions, I think that their work deserves wider attention and a lot of people will find it thoroughly engrossing.

I'm not really a huge conspiracy buff, but it might be significant one of these guys is a CFR member, and was also involved in the reconstruction of the 1918 Spanish influenza.

Oh hey, this was approved. I was a bit worried it wouldn't be due to the fact I reposted it from elsewhere. Just didn't want to have to type the same thing out again. I was the OP at abovetopsecret. I sent this off to a few other news sites and never got a response.

by the way you should try to read the whole thread over there to get a better sense of everything we were able to come up with. nothing conclusive obviously, but there were a few ups and downs and convolutions in trying to decide what kind of response this thing deserves.
  • Thanks for posting it here. We respect original source sites that we link to so do not like to post more than a tease of the original post with a link to that original. You can see how we edited your post to try to effect that. It helps if you leave out all the formatting code from the original site too!

if anyone heard linda molten howe on coast a few nites ago.....I would love to hear what she has to say about this.
  • asphodelven777
Funny you mention that. She was the 3rd person I sent this to because she was on that night and was going to be discussing swine flu.
It was pretty much last minute before she was going to be on, so I doubt she even read it that night.
Never did get a response from her either.
I also sent a copy to George Noory that night. I asked them both to have any of their contacts with relevant knowledge to have a look.

I am thinking that because I haven't been visited by men in black and am still alive and well that this might not be "THE" smoking gun that people are looking for. Although the more people that see this the less worried I am for my continued well being.

When I didn't get any reponses I just took the email I'd put together and brought it to ATS. I mean, swine flu was being actively bioengineered in this country shortly before a pandemic. Even if this was a totally benign operation, I would expect people might have some interest in knowing that fact.
