Every time I try to cross into Canada, I get interrogated for just visiting! The only thing they haven't done to me is search my belongings (which the US authorities do when I return). Canada is not the safe haven that we've been sold on. If anything, it's more repressive up there. The only thing going for it is the fact that there's so few people, that the probability of running into law enforcement is extremely low. Just hope you don't... I'm not surprised.
