Actually I heard on QI the other night that in the book the doctor named his creation Adam. God complex much? ;)
I haven't read the book myself but Stephen Fry seems to be a pretty good source for such titbits. I would imagine 'Frankenstein's Monster' caught on rather than the real name because it sounds a lot more interesting, and then it was just a matter of abreviation.

Agreed (yes, I read the book). However, the monster seems to have taken on the name of his creator, having been given no name at all (that I remember) in the book. So "Frankenstein" it is.

Frankenstein was the name of the doctor who created the "monster" not the name of the monster itself. Therefore, having Frankenstein be both resurrected and feared and revered is counter-intuitive. The doctor might be revered and feared. The monster would most definitely be feared and probably not revered in any manner.

I would suggest replacing "Frankenstein" with "The Mummy" to make the diagram more accurate.
