Banned Mormon Cartoon?

Posted by disinfogreg on January 25, 2010

I can see why this might be disowned by the Powers That Be. Pretty entertaining stuff.

See if a dude rocked up on his bike to my door with this video, I'd gladly give them some time.

  • zanto

ummm, yea, I'd really like to have a very, very long talk with this man, and then run away laughing at his stupidity

  • GoodDoktorBad

I always suspected our Gods were space aliens. Does that make me a Mormon? Now I'm scared…

  • jmmr

HA! I was forced to watch this at a church my family went to for a little while. I was also forced to give up He-Man, carebears, and anything involving magic or 'new age' (unicorns, dragons, etc.). I wonder if that had any effect on me not going to any church now. …hmmmmmm

  • Mok

all of these stories of wacky far out “god” are really out there. but they are more palatable when in cartoon form.

  • honu

I've seen this video on youtube before. I think it's several chapters actually. Would make a great science fiction movie. Too bad this completely insane sh-t is supposed to be educational. I'm pretty universally against religion and hearing this garbage proves that beliefs are dangerous. So very very sad. Anyone see 'Big Love'?

  • dumbsaint

also I love the part where Space God arrives at Mary's place and gives her that kind of smug knowing look. I expected a bit of synth bass to kick in at any moment

  • Joseph Smith

An absolutely brilliant heap of batshit insanity. Enjoyed every moment.

  • Doug E

Apparently none of the commenters were able to catch that this was not made *by* the Mormons, but *about* the Mormons by people seeking to spread lies about them to scare their congregations from ever talking to someone with actual knowledge. It's propaganda. Did you know that Muslims sacrifice babies and eat them? I have a video about it that was “disowned” by the “Powers That Be”… come on people. The very first sentence gives away that it was never produced by the Mormon church! But it's more sensational to say that it's some secret video that “they” don't want you to see… lol.

all religion is propaganda, designed by the rulers or would be rulers to control the masses.

  • Hennessey

Lol does it realy matter who made the cartoon since it is what the mormons realy believe anyway .. read a mrmon book and thats the jist of it. Except the part about god walking up to marrys house … he didnt do that … he picked her up at planned parenthood.

  • Someone

Mormonism is just like Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard once said….”if you want to become very rich, simply start a religion” the man died very wealthy for just that reason. And we ALL agree that Scientology is just complete BS. Its like the imagination of people on LSD or magic mushrooms (ahem….the guy who invented Mormonism) Its really entertaining, like free movies or the internet…only its people…very stupid people.

  • drdoolittle

I was raised Mormon. I am not a member of the church nor have I been for over a decade. I will admit that this video is pretty entertaining, but unfortunately the majority of this is not what Mormons believe. I went to church every sunday for about 11 years, including attending early morning seminary and can say, not as a mormon, but as a scholar, that this information is full of slander. There are elements of truth in there, but most of it seems to be the work of someone looking to take down a “competing” church.

  • Guest

No. It is not what Mormons believe. Not at all. This was not made by the church, and nothing in this video is true.

  • Rob

doesn't it seem as thought the narrator is telling this all tongue in cheek?

  • caro

when were their gladiators in america? must have missed that day of us history

  • http://www.orrinjelo.com/ OJ

Ha ha ha ha…*tears comes to eyes* Wow, this is great. Who thunk up this stuff? You'd have to me pretty messed up to believe this video. I don't know what church this is talking about, but it isn't LDS.

  • polaritymonkey

It would suck if this tuned out to be true…

  • Cody

The mormons definitely have a different view than most christians, but most of that video was made up.

for example, god knocking up mary, and jesus having wives, and all that bull.

oh yeah, and they don't believe that adam was god.

frankly most of it was crap.

  • Guest

Mormonism of today is so sanitized from what it used to be. For example? Just like Jehovah's Witnesses both religions believed stuff like over time black people would “turn” white once they were in paradise or the afterlife. Older people in the religions remember those freaky teachings. But you're spiritually weak or sick, apostate or have bad motives if you speak aloud of these things anymore. Most of the younger generation just don't believe these things were ever taught at all in their religion's history because it simply has been wiped away or explained away or used by their leaders to put fear in their hearts against the worldly.

  • paddedroom

    Twisted shit.

  • paddedroom

    Total bullshit.

  • Jordan

I grew up as a Mormon (LDS) and I can tell you this is exactly what Mormons believe. The obsession with sex, polygamy and procreation is not as prominent as it would seem in this video, in fact its not even discussed openly but it is sort of an undertone in the religion. Every man in the church understands that is why they want to be gods. Polygamy and an eternity of sex in heaven is why men do it. The publicly given reason is a focus on family and how awesome that is. But that's sort of like watching porn for the goofy ass hilarious plots. In reality you wanna see the sex.

Now this is not to say that Mormonism hasn't changed and modernized. They don't practice polygamy anymore. They don't openly consider blacks to be evil or unworthy. But they are very much racist, they openly discourage mixed race marriages, they claim its simply a choice their one family has made, like a rule only they follow. But every Mormon family I have ever known growing up; including my own had this rule.

And while they have modernized their message, they have not changed their bible so all of this stuff is still in there, and still taught. It's just not free styled by the bishops anymore.

  • paddedroom

    Knock on my door assmunch!

  • christian

jesus .. children … get a grip … this is blasphemy .. no wonder it was banned … mormons lol .. what a useless group of turds

  • Poida

I am not religious but this cartoon has been spread around for a while. Each time changing the name of the religion. I know religions believe some weird stuff but this is not about Mormons. Good laugh tho. How can anyone deny logical thinking haha. Religions… so 1800's.

  • http://supernaturalmerchandise.info/ Aleister Crowley

“White and Delightsome” I have pains in my side from laughing!

  • utahson

I've been a Mormon all my life. There is nothing that could even remotely be considered factual in this cartoon. In fact, the cartoon would bring gales of laughter from every Mormon I know.

  • DC

Nothing? That is bullshit. I was LDS for 22 years, even served an LDS Mission, and I can assure you that most of it is, in fact, what they believe. If you are mormon and don't know this, then I feel very sorry for your ignorance.

  • DC

This is most definitely about Mormons. I know this because I used to be one.

  • DC

Then you are a typical Mormon. Completely clueless and blindly following.

  • Mike

While the average Mormon might not believe many of the things on the video, the morning teachings in the Book of Mormon, Doctrines and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and other writings by their prophets actually do teach everything the video listed. Fortunately Mormons (like lots of people) dont do much independent research and just listen to what their authority figures tell them and that spares them from believing what authentic Mormonism has to say. Read some books, its all there.

  • Rick

As a former Mormon, I can confirm that all of this is accurate. It may not be taught this explicitly nowadays since Mormonism is currently undergoing a make-over to make it more appealing to mainstream Christians, but everything this video contains is spot on. Younger Mormons are probably out of touch with these teachings, but they are classical, mainstream Mormon belief.

  • utahfella

This is actually from an old anti-Mormon movie called The God Makers. It began as a book written as a kind of expose by ex-mormons who became mainstream Christians.

  • SSaxton1989

    Mormons are CRAZY

  • 100% Mormon Believer

    It happened!

  • Galactus

Read “Under the Banner of Heaven” by Jon Krakauer. An excellent, well-researched, well-written and thoroughly enjoyable and disturbing look at the history of the Mormons to the present day.

  • rfw888

The first religion began with the meeting of the first scoundrel and the first fool. the pattern continues,,,

  • mota

all religion is a bunch of crap made up by the human consciousness for it to fill the ego. human ego needs identification. it craves it. so all of your egos have caused a big illusion to you in your conscious mind. the ego will convince you of anything to get what it wants. and you people so desperately need identification in the form of religion. organized religion has nothing to do with spirituality. it can have spiritual aspects to it. but by being religious are you no way shape or form being spiritual.

  • Mike

Actually, Cody, it's not made up. I served a mission. I was Mormon for the first 30 years of my life. I know this doctrine they're teaching is accurate as outlined in this cartoon. The spirit of God descending on Mary to make her pregnant is LDS doctrine as God literally getting the virgin pregnant by sex. The delivery of all of this doctrine is filtered to not be so off-putting to believers. If not, they'd stop believing… like I did. Many Mormons will believe this is made up, but it's not. It's straight fact.

  • Mike

The problem is that what they taught in Sunday school and seminary was filtered doctrine. What those classes tend to focus on is topic controlled reviews of scripture, not deep doctrine. The Church shies away from sharing that info, even actively dodging legitimate questions. Ask a church leader point by point and see what answers you get. There is also the issue of doctrine being reinterpreted time and again throughout LDS history, major Book of Mormon revisions time and again, Temple rituals changing, hymnals changing… all doctrine fudging to lure members away from focusing on the hilariously ridiculous beliefs Mormonism was founded on. I'm also about a decade out of being LDS, and I disagree, “Most” of this is accurate, not slander.

  • Mike

Seconded. Saying “nothing that could even remotely be considered factual in this cartoon” is the perfect example of Mormon's wanton naivety in order to steer away from blatant obvious silly doctrine that challenges their belief. “Avoid the very appearance of evil,” is a favorite phrase of the LDS, touted to inspire Mormons to steer clear of anything “anti-Mormon” media. People who “fall away” are lessons Mormon's keep using as inspiring examples of what could happen to them if they read some pamphlet or watch media like this that sparks a questioning mind. It's horrific. My entire family is Mormon, and I'm an outcast because I just can't keep believing in this crap any more than I can keep believing in the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus.

  • Kohlrabi

All religion is dangerous. It is made up for the sole purpose of controlling other human beings, especially women. Woman's place in Mormonism is procreation. They are trained from birth to be attractive to men, to accept male dominance, to kowtow to the church's elders, to put up or be shunned.

Mormon polygamy is still practiced in this country, possibly by as many as 30 thousand families.

I'm surprised no one mentioned THE GARMENT. Did you know that both Mormon men and women are obliged to wear a specific, long undergarment under their clothing? it's prescribed by the church.

Also no one mentioned the practice of adopting the dead from other religions without anyone's permission, and “saving” them by baptizing them Mormon posthumously. Imagine finding out one day that your dead Father or Uncle were pulled into the Mormon church by some zealot who baptized their name? Why do you think Mormons run the genealogy racket in this country, collecting all baptismal, marriage, and death records for ALL religions?

  • Derek

LOL!!!! that was one of the funniest things i've ever heard….. sounds a lot like Scientology… oooohh crap that was funny…. lol

  • ali

i'm not even mormon, and i don't even like mormons, but i know that most of this shit isnt actually what they believe.

  • Rebecca

You seem to be confusing the Mormon religion with the Catholic religion. Mormons are taught and encouraged to study all the scriptures in their own time, alone, in groups, with family- whatever, in order to further understand it all within themselves. And if things change within the church, that's simply because the WORLD is changing. How can anything remain the same over so many years?

  • servus_dei

yeah my teacher told us about all this; its crazy isnt it?
so weird… one of the weirdest religions ive heard of… especially the part about how they deny most of this when you ask them even though its actually what they really do believe.

  • Gigi

your average mormon (recovered mormon here) has no concept of the depth of writings and doctrine embraced by their church they just believe blindly that whatever their prophet says is what is. Everything in this cartoon is taken straight from church doctrine.

  • Gigi

im not a mormon and dont like mormons you dont have a freakin clue what you are talking about so go crawl back into your little oblivion hole where the world is as you see it and no other way.

  • Angela

Mike, Mike. Tsk. Do you think maybe your bitterness against your family is coloring your own opinion just a bit? As Utahson said, this video doesn't spark questions in a Mormon's mind, just amusement. Another saying you may be familiar with? Satan mixes truth and lies to bring about his own ends. Bits of it are true (like Joseph Smith is considered to be a prophet, and the Lamanites destroyed the Nephites), but not most of it (Mormon's have their own Jesus? Huh? And God had celestial sex with millions of wives? What is that about? LOL). I'm Mormon, but I have made it a personal goal to learn about other religions as well. I have yet to be thrown out of the church for asking questions or attending other churches. If people want to know what Mormon's really believe, they can find everything at lds.org.
