Here’s A Christian Pastor Planning to Burn A Koran This Saturday on 9/11 (Video)

Posted by ralph on September 8, 2010

His right to do so is protected by the First Amendment. While the president hasn’t questioned the “wisdom” of doing so, the military has, namely General Petraeus. Interview from Hardball with Chris Matthews:

lets all give them a little run for their money and burn a bible in response, i mean it’s freedom of speech right?

  • Tralphaz

It’s been done and no one died as a result but just burn the book belonging to the religion of peace and watch all hell break loose.

  • A Bad Joke

Why do this? Isn’t the fact that many war on terror vets (including myself) are against this proof enough this isn’t a good idea?

    I blame the space lizards.

  • Asd

this shows how both sides of the argument are idiots…
we would be better off without any religion…

First of all this preacher isn’t a Christian…instead a belligerent hate mongering moron.

Second of all I believe everyone has a right to freely believe in whatever they so choose, and even if you where to wipe all beliefs in anything supernatural from the face of the earth….then you would still have belligerent hate mongering morons out there and plenty of people following them into doing some pretty retarded things.

Third, book burning is nothing but closed minded hate filled people trying to make the world the same way that they are.

….and lastly, this is a serious issue, and I think that people that people that are just like “let them burn” either don’t know or don’t care that this is going to cause a lot of good people, military people, but still good people, to come back home in flag draped coffins

I guess there is no news in all of the U.S.A. Otherwise the entire news media including the President would focus on more important issues rather than a po-dunk church in the middle of no where, lead by a hick who leads a tiny group of followers who may or may not agree with him.

This story is simply being used to distract we citizens from the real issues, economy, jobs, oil spills ruining the Gulf, alternative energy sources being blocked by big corporations, etc……

totally – “we’ve prayed it through and decided the message that we want to send out is one of utter hate… oh and god wants me to carry a weapon at all times, too”.

he seems almost to be saying if violence results from his foolish actions, then that just proves his point. anyone think this gun-toting fucking arsehole may have been put up to it? there seems to have been quite a rash of anti-islamic stories circulating in the american media recently…

Messiah Obama has spoken out against this attention whore uh pastor.

As quoted by the New York Times, Messiah Obama said, “If he’s listening, I just hope he understands that what he’s proposing to do is completely contrary to our values,” … “I just want him to understand that this stunt that he is pulling could greatly endanger our young men and women in uniform who are in Iraq, who are in Afghanistan.”

What is your point Mr Talking Penis?

Do you have an opinion quote-master?

    Spit it out!

Muslims have become a template onto which a segment of Americans apply all of their fears. There wasn’t all that much anti-Muslim sentiment under Bush. During the election, it became acceptable to accuse Obama of being a Muslim as a substitute for saying “he’s black and has a funny name.” People like Beck/Palin are happy to exploit that, turning a “mosque” nobody cared about into a weeks-long media frenzy that leads to a Muslim cab driver having his face and throat slashed in NYC, but it’s not just Fox. The Revolution Islam guy who supposedly threatened South Park into censoring an episode of their show was just a crank blogger to whom everyone overreacted.

All these stories build on themselves and stir up a hysteria. Anti-Muslim sentiment is higher now than it has been since 9/11, yet it is not as though we have suffered a terrorist attack. People are simply angry/afraid for largely unrelated reasons, and they’re directing it at Islam because they can.

This bit about the book burning endangering our troops just strikes me as another way of saying “Don’t air our dirty laundry.”

What a complete vindictive fool! I’m not even a Muslim -but I’d be tempted to kick this guys ass….
Send this guy over to Afghanistan or Iraq and see what happens to him. Infidel indeed……
Talk about inflamatory? No wonder they hate Americans if this guy is a representative!

Where are they going to get these Korans to burn? Are Korans just laying about the average parishoners house? Did they buy them with the donation plate money?
What Muslim would part with their sacred book un-awares? Old book sales at the library?

I don’t like religions that endanger ME. This man says he is a christian and is fulfilling the calling of his religion. Thus, christianity is endangering me. I must act like a incredibly moronic religion-baiter and hate all christians.

  • Anonymous

christianity is hardly the religion of peace

it sounds to me like the pastors at “dove world” have become bored with the path that they have chosen. i believe pastors sapp and jones will be carrying their guns a lot longer than they had expected, especially when the troops come home… or don’t. furthermore, i don’t think pastor sapp looks “prepared” to shoot anyone.

Judging by the size of this guy’s chin(s), I suggest that a more salubrious policy would be for him to ban ding-dongs from his diet. >Gasp<"Wheeze"

the media is just fuelling the fire. according to my mate’s gran, who lived through WW2, it’s EXACTLY the same as the anti-seimitic propaganda that the public was bombarded with in the 30s. now, they need us to hate muslims enough to justify them invading iran.

when will people realise they are just pawns in a game?

  • fuzzgun

I say fuck all religions, but I’m sickened that most of Islam’s critics are solely motivated by anti-Arab racism and allegiance to rival cults. Ever since the media made “Muslim” de facto shorthand for “Arab” after 911, anti-”Muslim” sentiment comes across as vicious, barely disguised racism.

  • Jdarby007

What ever happened to separation of church and state? Thats why I hate liberals because they’re retards to begin with but i hate conservatives even more because they involve religion with their political agenda. It’s all fucked up in my opinion even tho I usually vote republican but i vote HONESTLY for ANY candidate that supports my right to bear arms. My gun collection just keeps growing, and growing and growing!

If human history is an accurate indicator, never.

  • Filterburg

He was referring to Islam “the religion of peace”!!! As its been called…. never heard that b4?

  • gemmarama

    depressing, isn’t it?

  • E.B. Wolf

It can be. I prefer to heed George Carlin’s advice and emotionally detach myself from it (as much as possible without a lifetime supply of fuck you money, anyway) and simply approach it as a sideshow attraction.

  • Anonymous

    sadly, i have not.

  • David Frost

Yeah I definitly agree. It wouldn’t suprise me, especially with congressional elections coming up. It is a good hypothesis that perhaps a right winger put him up to it to cause muslims to violently retaliate and therefore stir up a great deal of islamophobia in the American populus, making Democrats look passive and therefore giving the power back to Republicans. Politics in America are getting so dirty and divisive that I don’t put anything past anyone anymore.

  • David Frost

I think he is a nut job.,..probably self ordained, with out even a high school diploma, I’m probably wrong but you get my point. I know when I was in seminary school I was never taught or encouraged to act anything remotely like this.

  • Callum

Try being more well read before making political statements then?

Yeah I’ll get right on that dude, where do you want me to start? I’ll open my word processing document and copy+paste away!!
