I’m not sure if he knew that he wouldn’t be around too long, but my feeling is that he had to lay it all out before he left this veil of tears. I thank him for this gift.

All the blessings of the universe to George Carlin. From the grave his voice still rings truth, however painful the reality of it. The hopefull madness of laughter gives us strength to go on…..
Every day is a holiday, enjoy it!

i love him, but the actual truth is that real freedom comes from deep within, deeper than what the average person you see on the street has attained, not with if you have the ability to buy more hamburgers than the guy sitting next to you.
there isn’t one shared reality and that’s it… there are tons of different levels of understanding on this planet.

That was nearly a decade before his death, before even his “comeback” appearances in some Kevin Smith films. It’s also more or less what he was saying for the 20 years prior.

Mixing your metaphors (spiritual & political) is a semantic copout. I don’t mean to imply that there is a hard line between the spiritual & the political, the political & the personal or any of these heavily polarized false dichotomies. It just seems clear that when people have no solution they tend to shift the topic by use of the inherent fuzziness of language.
How many apolitical gurus with the road to “true freedom” tattooed on their asses wind up begging for historical materialist thugs to save said asses from the “jackboots of history?” And, on the flipside, how many post-revolutionary citizens pay the shiniest sheckles to the flakiest sensi-leaf readers for directions back to the great mother’s womb?
Folks with no hamburgers aren’t about to be satisfied when you tell them hamburgers won’t satisfy. Go preach to the well-fed. There are certainly many realities, and some them are fuckin’ hungry.

Fact is: Profit margins are greater on Chinese semi-slaves! God Bless Carlin, he saw at least half the picture through the massive propaganda machine of the corporatists.

The truth will make you free. And angry.

I really liked his pre-9/11 rant on rats and snitches.
The problem, of which Carlin does not get, is duality. As long as people fight one thing or the other, people will lose. But I have a choice. I don’t buy the crap from “the man”, so I can’t be fucked. In other words, you can’t cheat an honest man. That’s why I don’t vote. I don’t take on debt. I don’t buy the crap “they” tell l need, AND most important. I DON’T PAY FOR CABLE TV! Screw the man. In Jesus’ name of course.

Carlin was a friggn prophet, if ever there was one! Gawd I love this guy!
