Everybody’s been too damn polite about this nonsense:

The “Occupy” movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. “Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

“Occupy” is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the “movement” – HAH! Some “movement”, except if the word “bowel” is attached – is anything more than an ugly fashion statement by a bunch of iPhone, iPad wielding spoiled brats who should stop getting in the way of working people and find jobs for themselves.

This is no popular uprising. This is garbage. And goodness knows they’re spewing their garbage – both politically and physically – every which way they can find.

Wake up, pond scum. America is at war against a ruthless enemy.

Yes, you are right, i took the comment personally-and there was no need for me to do so. i have a tendency towards that, and sometimes it probably comes across as overly aggressive/sensitive.

and no it doesn’t bother me at the end of the day, but i am a bonadfide smart ass, and have difficulty passing up those opportunities…

Rus, I was well aware of Al-Queda as was anyone who reads international news, 9-11 was not their 1st move so IF they were US backed/ instigated the planners wasted a lot of time before they got your attention. The things it takes to get peoples attention these days! Sorry for what might sound disrespectful to the dead, I don’t mean it in that sense, but not following the news is not a good reason to assume something. If there is a lie here it is buried a layer or two deeper than you have yet peered into….

Look, if you want to think that the US govt planned, enacted and controlled the 9-11 terror attacks entirely on its own (or certain elements of the govt did, or in collusion with Israel or the Mossad, or the Illuminati, or the Draconians, or fucking Frank Miller) then that’s your business; I disagree, sorry. It’s not that I don’t think that the US govt (MY govt) was not and is not logistically or morally capable of such an act, just that they did not do so in this instance.

Did the Bush administration, with the complete and cowardly cooperation of the Democratic Party, exploit the living shit out this tragedy to further their own greedy, warmongering agenda? Hell yes. Did they (and the Clinton administration) ignore warnings that such an attack would occur in the months and years before 9-11 (a la the Phoenix memo)? Almost certainly. Did the United States have a great deal of culpability in creating the situation and conditions necessary for a group like al-Qaeda to come about, and is this still reflected in our immoral, hypocritical, profit-driven foreign policy? Of course – Bin Laden and others like him were called “freedom fighters” in the 80s by Reagan himself when those fanatic assholes were fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan; all of this was done with our money, our weapons, our intelligence, and our training. I literally got into fistfights with people when I tried to tell them this ten years ago.

However…while I think there are a great deal of questions that remain about 9-11 (such as: did our Air Force shoot down Flight 93?), I personally think that yes, pissed-off Muslim extremists committed these attacks, and that Bush did not “knock down the towers” (with apologies to Immortal Technique). I understand and (mostly) respect the opinion of people who think otherwise, but I personally believe that al-Qaeda terrorists, with funding and inspiration from Osama Bin Laden, carried out the 9-11 attacks. I think this for a variety of reasons, but one in particular stands out to me:

it was never about ‘bullying’, having ‘balls, or ‘taking a joke’ or even being overly sensitive. it’s actually about treating people with respect enough that discussion is possible. you don’t have to be emily post or politically correct or the perfect little poster, but you should not engage in emasculating/homophobic name calling- it’s juvenile and regressive.

I think Mr Miller is entitled to his opinion. I don’t watch Fox news or MSNBC. However, I find these OWS people to be nothing more than beggars. They want something for nothing. I am not rich and have always worked for everything I own. I do not begrudge others from doing the same. However, I do not want a habd out from anyone. I don’t want something I didn’t earn. Redistribution of wealth is taking without earning.

It’s funny. I’ve read through the majority of the posts. It seems that the only one who isn’t entitled to his opinion is Frank Miller. It seems as though only supporters of the OWS movement are allowed to be heard. If your opinion differs from the OWS supporters you better be prepared for a verbal beatdown.

It’s also funny that the OWS and its supporters want to (wrongfully) use the First Amendment (right to “peaceably assemble”) to hide behind but deride people when they (rightfully) use the First Amendment (freedom of speech) as Mr. Miller did.

I applaud Mr. Miller. I don’t agree with the way he said it, but I agree with his intent.

You are contradicting yourself – to fabricate means to create. And what do you mean exactly by “fabricate” anyway? Certain Islamic fundamentalists (Bin Laden/al-Zawahiri/Taliban associates) only used the name AFTER 9/11? Please explain further.

You’d think that someone who is often hailed as one of the two guys who reinvented comics would have something more creative to say that “get a job, pond scum.” (When there are 7 unemployed people for every 1 job… calling it ‘easier said than done’ is an understatement.)

Funny how he has the right to hurl insults at us, but clearly any response that doesn’t agree is anti-First Amendment? Freedom of speech means we get to call you on your bullshit, not just listen to you spew it.

Where i can understand the criticism of OWS, at least they are doing something. Some OW-ers really get it. the fed. 9/11. the military industrial complex. Meaningless wars, Lobbyist. Laundry list of things to be upset about. Others, like in any movement, are just there to be apart of something; Get on TV, Or maybe have felt something is wrong but don’t know what to do about it. They are, at times, misdirected. But at the very least, its their right to protest. Plenty of companies get something for nothing. Hence the bailouts = corporate welfare. Frank is old and crotchety. A Bruce Wayne who is in need of a diaper change since Alfred died some 20 years ago in a freak bat jet explosion leaving the ole thousandaire to clean himself. Something I’m sure Frank’s probably not done since the 60’s….
