the art of astral projection

A New Technique: Orgasm-Induced Astral Projection

Using orgasm to reach out-of-body state or Wake Induced Lucid Dream (WILD)

Preparation

Before using this technique, you will need to get in the proper mindset. This involves nothing more than keeping an open mind, and more importantly having the extreme desire to achieve an out-of-body state. If you are unfamiliar with the terms such as lucid dreaming, astral projection, out-of-body experiences (OBE's), the hypnagogic and hypnopompic states, I suggest you follow the links and read as much on the subjects as possible.

At Bedtime

Before going to sleep, take 1/2 to 1mg of melatonin. This is not necessary, but it's always a good thing to do before attempting subconscious exploration.

Set your alarm clock to go off three hours before your normal waking time.

Read a document or two on astral projection and/or out-of-body experiences.

While drifting off to sleep, focus single-mindedly on your wish to have an out-of-body experience. Imagine what it will feel like, what you will see, hear, and do. Visualize yourself lifting out of your body. Concentrate on your goals, and do not allow anything to interfere with your mindset. If you get sidetracked, return immediately to focusing on your goals. This is the equivalent of doing MILD, but geared toward an out-of-body experience.

Upon Waking

When the alarm goes off, you must not fall back asleep. If you have to get up in order to stay awake, do so. You're going to need to stay up for about an hour. This time should be spent as follows:

First, try to recall any dream that you might have had while asleep. Trace it back as far as you can, and write down every detail that you can remember in your dream log.

Once finished, use the bathroom if you need to. Get something to drink if needed, but nothing containing caffeine. If you need to eat something, make sure that it isn't a 'high energy' food. Fruit is preferable. After these things are taken care of, return to a comfortable position.

Next, you are going to achieve an orgasm. While you may not be feeling very sexual, it is absolutely necessary for this technique to work. This should be done using any method that you wish, whether through masturbation or sex with a partner. While trying to reach orgasm, you should put as much energy and emotion into it as you possibly can. This will ensure that the orgasm will leave your body completely exhausted, and your mind fully clear.

After orgasm, lie flat on your back in a position that is just comfortable enough for you to sleep in, but not so comfortable that you'll fall right back to sleep. It may help to be slightly uncomfortable -- perhaps an arm out of the sheets where it will be colder than the rest of your body. This may help you pay more attention to your body's changing states. You could also try keeping one arm bent at the elbow, stuck in the air so that when you reach the hypnogogic state, your arm will fall and alert your mind to your condition.

While allowing yourself to drift toward the dream-state, review your goal of having an OBE. Visualize yourself lifting out, floating around the room, and perhaps going through a wall or window. Concentrate fully on your goals. You are now awaiting the 'GO' state.

The 'GO' state will hit you suddenly, and without any real warning. It is an odd shift in consciousness that marks the 'shutting down' of your conscious mind. If all goes well, you will notice the change in your mind/body state and be able to take advantage of the situation.

When you're there, you'll know it. You'll be excited, and it's okay to stay that way. Don't attempt to 'calm down,' doing so may result in you falling completely asleep. Now it is time to 'lift out.' Imagine that you have an 'astral body' and lift your head up. You must will yourself up and out. Remember how you visualized this being? Well, do it!

If you wake up without having noticed the 'GO' state, try letting yourself drift back to sleep. The trick is to always remember your dream-goals while drifting back to sleep. We all wake up and go back to sleep a few times in the morning before actually getting out of bed. Use each and every wake/sleep episode as a chance for an out-of-body-experience.
