So, Anywayz . . . Was Frank Zappa the director of an elaborate capitalistic, chauvinistic disinformation campaign, a confusion of fact with fiction that misleads the masses? Or did he successfully infiltrate popular culture as a vanguard Dada, sowing thought crime time-bombs as he went? Was he a magician? Or was he just a boring old music composer? Go to the library or a used record store, listen to some records, then overcome potential embarrassment so that you can decide for yourself.

[6] The idea for Night School? A famous news anchor (Zappa's choice was Bob Schaeffer) would recap the week's news, revealing the material that had been cut out, dismissed, or otherwise altered in the process of creating the news. Schaeffer and guests would discuss the possible reasons the networks might have had for withholding this information, then actors would comically pre-enact the future consequences of these omissions. (This proposal is discussed in Mother! The Frank Zappa Story [London: Plexus Publications (3rd ed.), 2001] and The Real Frank Zappa Book [New York: Poseidon Press, 1989]). Part of the Master Plan?
