Kenn Thomas is founder of 'Steamshovel Press', one of the most influential conspiriology publishing houses in existence; editor of the popular zine 'Steamshovel Press'; and a seminal researcher on socio-political issues. Thomas is probably best known for 'The Octopus: The Secret Government And Death Of Danny Casolaro' (Feral House, 1996) co-written with Jim Keith. An influential investigation into runaway grand juries and a murky underworld based on the notes of journalist Danny Casolaro, Keith and Thomas' investigation shedded new light on such well-known 'Reagan's America' political scandals as the Iran-Contra Affair; the 'October Surprise' and the collapse of BCCI. When Keith suddenly died on September 8th 1999, amidst rumours of assassination over revealing the name of the physician who claimed Princess Diana was pregnant at the time of her death, Thomas publicly declared that he would continue his beloved friend's legacy.
Thomas has had a remarkably prolific publishing history. His books include 'Inside The Gemstone File' (Adventures Unlimited Press, 1999); 'Maury Island UFO: The Crisman Conspiracy' (IllumiNet Press, 1999); and 'Flying Saucers Over Los Angleles' (Adventures Unlimited Press, 1998); 'Mind Control, Oswald And JFK' (Adventures Unlimited Press, 1995) and 'NASA, Nazis & JFK: The Torbitt Document & The Kennedy Assassination' (Adventures Unlimited Press, 1995). The most incisive collection of 'Steamshovel Press' material is collected in 'Cyberculture Counterconspiracy: A Steamshovel Press Reader' (Book Tree, 1999) and 'Popular Alienation: A Steamshovel Press Reader' (IllumiNet Press, 1995).
He is one of America's most well-known and best loved alternative press icons. He has been featured on radio and television programs including Fox News 'Full Nelson'; Rob McConnell's 'X-Zone'; 'Sightings On The Radio'; 'Strange Daze'; and 'Coast To Coast AM With Art Bell'.
Since the proliferation of conspiriology subcultures online and the popular success of 'The X-Files', researchers have come under greater scrutiny for their methodologies and disinformation-gathering techniques. Eschewing rumour whilst retaining a critical sensibility refracted through humor, Kenn Thomas is an exemplar of the conspiriology field at its finest.
