black helicopters come in all shapes and colors
by Preston Peet (ptpeet@cs.com) - December 20, 2000
If I was to be on a marijuana eradication mission with all these large, armed people in heavy field clothing and magnificent thundering equipment, I wanted to see me some pot, man - I mean I wanted vast waving fields of green instead of this wilted, hacked up bunch of what could have been $3 worth of basil from Wellspring, wrote Peter Eichenberger in the North Carolina Spectator (July 26th, 2000), commenting on his 'disappointment' at not finding action while accompanying a crew of helicopter-transported drug cops for a day.

There have been stories floating around the US for years of ominous unmarked black helicopters flying around suspiciously. Associated with UFOs, cattle mutilations, and rumors of a UN take-over, these allegations have been denigrated and scoffed at for years, with little to no attention given them by the mainstream press. But they are real, they are here, and while they are sometimes dark green, or brown, as well as black, they are flown by American police and military personnel, not by UN troops.

In 1981 and 1989, the US government amended the Posse Comitatus Act, which is supposed to forbid the US military from being used against US citizens within the United States, to allow exception for drug-interdiction efforts. There have been a series of other exceptions and decrees by US politicos to further erode the protection from soldiers being deployed against them that US citizens once enjoyed, one way being to use US National Guard units rather than regular Army.

Wayne Laugesen reported in the Boulder Weekly (September 7th, 2000), on the use of black helicopters in the eradication of private citizens' head stash in Boulder County, Colorado. These cops fly around the county searching for plots of marijuana, then hover overhead. They provide both an aerial marker for the ground forces to facilitate their finding the hidden crops, and to give cover fire if there are hostile pot growers who would try to prevent the cops from stealing and destroying their yield.

Another sighting of black helicopters comes during the Urban Exercise training operations that have been happening more frequently around the US in recent years, such as in Anniston, Alabama, in March 1999. US Special Forces landed at the local airport, shutting off the community's electric power, and waging mock warfare for hours. While the local cops had been notified, the County Sheriff's office hadn't been, nor had the residents of the area been told a mini-war would be waged next door to them. A much larger operation was planned for August, 2000, in Atlanta, Georgia, with at least "150 possible landing zones for helicopters" all picked out, ostensibly to train troops to be deployed in the Persian Gulf (November 2000).

Movies such as Blue Thunder (1983), Colors (1988), and the schlock TV cop-show Airwolf, all brought the use of souped-up cop-choppers into the public eye. Yet, until you are underneath the thwump-thwump of the rotors, caught in your own backyard by the spotlight's glare, the intimidation, fear, and absolute fury these machines engender in the "hearts and minds" of those subjected to overflights cannot be fully appreciated. Instead of helping stop the flow of drugs and make neighborhoods safer, these choppers instil anger within the people subjected to their use, driving wedges between the powerful, and the powerless.

It appears as though war has already been declared, not only upon those in countries like Colombia, but upon US citizens as well. Who authorized the use of Black Helicopters, weapons of war, by US law enforcement and military Black Helicopters, within US borders?

Crime Fighting Choppers
Take a ride with Kyra Phillips of CBS 2 News in Los Angeles (October 31st, 1997), in one of the LAPD's newest weapons against the citizenry . . . oops, I mean, against crime, the 407 Bell Helicopter. Enter the warzone . . . er, the neighborhoods of South Central with the armed oppresso . . . peace officers as they fly about intimidati . . . keeping the streets safe for the rich and powerful.

They Need Chopper, Don't They?
This Time magazine cover story (January 31, 2000), by Mark Thompson, begins with this very illuminating observation: "Talk about synergy. The coca-hunting Bell and Sikorsky helicopters that the Clinton Administration wants to ship to Colombia to help wipe out cocaine and heroin just happen to be needed at exactly the same time that U.S. helicopter builders are looking for new customers. It is a neat fit: Colombia and other Latin American nations can use the aircraft; U.S. helicopter builders can use the orders." The rest of the article falls flat after this great opening, but is still worth quickly reading.

Little Black Helicopter Page
This is a perfect example of disinformation, churning out a mountain of malarkey of UN-invasion-of-America, instead of focusing on the real use of black helicopters against US citizens, by US citizens, mainly to wage the totally un-American War Against Some Drugs.

Chopper Used In Drug War Grounded In US, Mexico, & Colombia
This Reuters article (April 4th, 1998) outlines the troubles Huey had with its old helicopter engines, particularly in the helicopters the drug warriors sold to Colombia and Mexico, as well as those used within America.

US Using Armed Choppers Against Drug Traffickers
This Reuters article (September 13th, 1999) reports on the Washington DC announcement that armed choppers would be going after drug traffickers in high-speed boats in the Caribbean. "Let this be a warning to all drug traffickers, we will hunt you down . . . we will shut you down, you and your hideous hide," US Transport Secretary Rodney Slater is quoted saying here. Sounds like ol' Rodney has some deeply ingrained problems of the masculinity kind, using these death machines to vicariously reassert his manhood.

US Coast Guard Fires At Drug Boats
This Associated Press (September 13th, 1999) reported that not only are the US Coast Guard using armed helicopters in their War Against Some Drugs, but they are firing upon the boats that bring drugs to the US too. An article detailing the use of these armed helicopters is also included here.

Fighting Drugs With Choppers & Poison
This Salon magazine article (July 5th, 2000) by Ana Arana details US Plan Colombia, which is built on the use of killer Black Hawk helicopter sales and use, and the spraying of oxysporum fusarium upon the citizens of Colombia (the poor rather than the wealthy).

Helicopters Engaged In War Against Drugs
This Santa Barbara news article (August 17th, 2000) on the use of military helicopters against US citizens in this evil War Against Some Drugs in California, is archived at the brilliant Mapinc.org Drug New Index. Remember that people, American pioneers, once went West to get to where folks were most free from Law and Order (if one doesn't consider the fact that those same pioneers were trampling the freest Americans of all, the native Indians). Now in California, while the voters continue to attempt to reform the draconian anti-some-drugs laws, the military and the police are turning more and more fascist and militaristic, using war machines to go after American citizens planting an herb.

US Black Hawks Up, Flying in Colombia's War On Drugs
Here is a look at the Black Helicopters in action in Colombia.

Black Helicopter ID Kit
This is a collection of various different helicopters, and even one or two fix-wing aircraft that may be seen sometimes in the 'black' configuration.

Colombia Chopper Wars (The War Grinds On)
This Free Republic article (June 26th, 2000) examines the sale of the Sikorsky and Bell helicopters to Colombia for its War On Some Drugs/Stomp The Campasinos Campaigns. Well worth a look to see just what it really is driving these rabid, foaming at the mouth, drug warriors.

Pentagon To Colombian Military: Sooo-Eeeee!
Here is another Bill Weinberg piece, from the High Times Web site, on the deal to 'sell' helicopters to Colombia. Great comment ends this piece, with McCaffrey noting that he hopes to soon be peddling the Sikorsky and/or Bell choppers, after he retires from his service as our bloody, fascist US drug czar. Isn't there some sort of "conflict of interest" statutes he can get nailed on, for pressing for the sale of a product he himself will sooner or later, at least he says he hopes, to be making a profit from?

The Marines Land In Atlanta
This World Net Daily report by David Bresnahen (August 16th, 2000) details the military having set up at least 150 landing sites for helicopter insertions of troops during Urban Warfare training sessions, for Operation TRUEX (Training in an Urban Environment Exercise). These occur more often all the time, with the military seemingly preparing for war within the streets of America . . . oh, wait a minute, we are at war in the streets of America, how could I forget? The War Against Some Drugs allows these Rambo types to continue to feel needed and wanted, by insisting that the flow of drugs can be halted by military methods, and carrying out those military operations as well. It probably could come close too, if the CIA, and even the US military itself, weren't actively protecting the traffickers themselves much of the time.

Clandestine Military Urban Assault Training Missions: MOUT
Take a look and see just how many Urban Training missions are reported since 1996. How many weren't reported, I wonder? The use of black helicopters is a trademark of these urban missions, which swoop into quiet neighborhoods and launch a mini-war without warning, scaring the residents half out of their minds.

Black Helicopter Invasion
This Boulder Weekly (September 7th, 2000) article by Wayne Laugesen, details the invasion of Boulder Country by Black Helicopter anti-drug forces. The war continues, and expands daily.

When Black Helicopters Meet Green Thumbs
For a look at the anti-pot ops in North Carolina using Black Helicopters, read this Spectator (North Carolina) article (July 26th, 2000) by Peter Eichenberger in the Spectator, archived at Mapinc.org.

Fact Or Fiction: About Those Black Helicopters
Here are two New American articles by William F. Jasper. One is on how unsubstantiated rumors can turn into tales of UN troops invading America, and the other is on the various real instances of helicopter use by the forces of oppression in America, whether they be black, brown, or really dark olive green.

Truth By Decree
Ian Goddard can always be depended upon for a good heartfelt rant, and this 1996 article is no exception. In here he deals with the perception of Black Helicopters, and those who try to study or even discuss their existence.

White Trash, Black Choppers
While I might not agree with McKenzie Wark, in that I find the use of super-high-tech helicopters with all sorts of spy-gizmos and weaponry, black and otherwise, against US citizens by the DEA, police, and military really happening, scary, and abhorrent (and I'm not White Trash as far as I know). That said, Wark makes some other very valid points, in that the fears of UN takeover among white trash stem from irrational and rational perceptions of one's own place in the overall scheme of things. I don't want to explain it all here, so by all means, give this article a visit.

The Black Helicopters Are Real!
This Shadow article (issue #38, 1996) is by the ever vigilant and intrepid Bill Weinberg, writes of how the militia fears of UN attack are misdirected. They have every reason to be worried about their rights being stomped on, and of black helicopters being used against them, but not to force the will of the UN upon them, but the will of the War Against Some Drug warriors designing internal and external US policy. Weinberg points out that it isn't just the Americans who have to worry, but also the Mexicans.

Militarized Law Enforcement: The Drug War's Deadly Fruit
This is an article by David Kopple, of the Cato Institute (a Washington DC-based Libertarian think tank), that is actually a chapter from the anthology After Prohibition: Adult Alternatives to the Drug War (Washington DC: Cato Institute, 2000), edited by Timothy Lynch. I was actually at the day long symposium Beyond Prohibition at the Cato Institute in 1999, and must say it is a bit heartening to see a bunch of suits discussing ways to end this evil war, even if they do support unbridled, uncontrolled, Big Business.

Martial Law Has Begun
This is a very disturbing article and group of photos that seem to show the military in active operations against US citizens, in what was explained to the reporter as a "bomb threat" mission. The officers on site tried to insist that the reporter, Ed Hohmann, not film their faces, as they are special military forces, and don't want people to see them. If the military is operating, and offering its services 24-hours a day to the local cops, and trying to keep it from public scrutiny, that does sound a lot like secret police type activity. So, the threat is once again not the UN, but our own government, military, and police. It is very difficult not to look at life in a conspiratorial light after reading stuff like this. At one point during this incident, two Black Helicopters were seen to lift off from behind some trees nearby.

The Night Is Ours: Special Ops In A Free Nation
This article outlines the Nightstalkers, and other US military types involved in various law-enforcement activities within the US. The Nightstalkers are the folks who fly the Black Helicopters ferrying the Delta Force guys around to their assorted mission assignments.
