non-lethal weapons
October 18, 2000
'Non-lethal,' 'Less-than-lethal,' 'Soft-kill,' 'Electromagnetic,' and 'Sonic.' Just a few of the terms being used to describe a new wave of armaments currently being developed, tested, and used by today's 'peace keeping' forces. As the New World Order settles in accompanied by political correctness, there is a greater demand for weapons which are intended to discourage, disable or maim the target and less for those that are intended to kill.

You gotta admit, at face value it *does* sound like a positive development. What's wrong with a police officer apprehending a suspected criminal using pepper spray instead of shooting him dead? Or using acoustic frequecies on a riotous mob to make them shit their pants as opposed to using tear gas and clubs?

Maybe even a war where nobody dies?

But what if the government is preparing not for conflicts against hostile enemies (Yeah, like they're gonna give up more conventional firepower, right!) but for dealing with civilian unrest. Situations where they don't necessarily want to kill those who are being oppressed, but not so gently convince them that they'd be better off not questioning Uncle Sam's authority.

A Nation of Cowards
'One who values his life and takes seriously his responsibilities to his family and community will possess and cultivate the means of fighting back, and will retaliate when threatened with death or grievous injury to himself or a loved one. He will never be content to rely solely on others for his safety, or to think he has done all that is possible by being aware of his surroundings and taking measures of avoidance.'

And what might the Blue Resonant Human think of Col. John Alexander? A foul, Avarian 'penguin' perhaps or is Alexander just your average psychic mercenery who happens to be an expert in death sciences (thanatology) trying to make an honest buck? Alexander studied with Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross AND he's a noted expert in 'non-lethal' weaponry... He's an interesting cat, that Alexander! Phew!
