"By a 6-3 vote, the nation's highest court declared on Thursday that a Texas law on what some states have called deviate sex acts was an unwarranted government violation of the right to privacy.
"Several legal scholars and gay and lesbian activists said the decision would probably have far-reaching implications for the popular discussion about gay rights."
