| June 30 2003 at 10:03AM "Baghdad - American forces in Iraq continued a major sweep north of Baghdad on Monday, vowing to crush the remnants of Saddam Hussein's ousted Baath party regime that they blame for a string of attacks on coalition forces. "The United States military said in a statement that Operation Desert Sidewinder, announced on Sunday, had already netted more than 60 people suspected of being Fedayeen militia fighters or members of the ousted Baath apparatus." |
