| Monday 30 June 2003, 8:05 PM "Tributes to legendary actress Katharine Hepburn poured in from Hollywood, Broadway and the White House following her death at the age of 96. "Called one of the greatest film icons of all time by the American Film Institute, the fiercely independent actress appeared in more than 50 films over six decades and won a record four Academy Awards. "She died at her home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, surrounded by family and friends, a family spokeswoman said. The cause of death given was "old age."" |
