Paris Catacombs Vandalized

Posted by PhantomCosmonaut on September 16, 2009

Paris’ underground bone collection, the catacombs, has been closed to the public indefinitely after being vandalized.

Ordinarily, the creepy collection of human remains — cleared from city cemeteries long ago — is orderly, with bones piled in stacks along underground tunnels. But a post-vandalism photo in Le Parisien newspaper showed bones and skulls scattered along the walking paths

Obama protestor carries an AR-15 rifle!?

Posted by PhantomCosmonaut on August 17, 2009

About a dozen people carrying guns, including one with a military-style rifle, milled among protesters outside the convention centre where President Barack Obama was giving a speech Monday – the latest incident in which protesters have openly displayed firearms near the president…

Phoenix police said the gun-toters at Monday’s event, including the man carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle… [committed][n]o crimes… and no one was arrested.”

Yeah, I get it.. the 2nd ammendment.

Is it going to get to the point that we have groups of Americans firing their assault rifles into the sky while burning stuffed President dolls in the streets? When did Phoenix become the Gaza Strip?

Be a big kid and use your words.

Sorcerous Freemasons Arrested in Fiji!

Posted by PhantomCosmonaut on July 16, 2009

“A group of freemasons have had to spend a night in jail in Fiji, after local villagers complained they were practising witchcraft.

The 14 men, including eight Australians and a New Zealander, had been holding a night-time meeting on Denerau island.

The New Zealand man told reporters he had spent a “wretched” time in jail, and blamed the mix-up on the actions of “dopey village people”.

Police also seized wands, compasses and a skull from the freemasons’ lodge.

Freemasonry is a centuries-old club that practises secret rituals and has more than five million members worldwide.”

I’m completely on this woman’s side, but c’mon. It’s the 21st century. Have you never heard of a “digital camera”?

“An Ontario woman… says Black’s violated her Charter rights back in 2001 when a worker handed the photos over to police. Drug charges were later dropped when the pictures were excluded as evidence because they were obtained without a search warrant.”

Game Show Aims To Convert Atheists

Posted by PhantomCosmonaut on July 5, 2009

What happens when you put a Muslim imam, a Christian priest, a rabbi and a Buddhist monk in a room with 10 atheists?

Turkish television station Kanal T hopes the answer is a ratings success as it prepares to launch a gameshow where spiritual guides from the four faiths will seek to convert a group of non-believers.

The prize for converts will be a pilgrimage to a holy site of their chosen religion — Mecca for Muslims, the Vatican for Christians, Jerusalem for Jews and Tibet for Buddhists.

“We are giving the biggest prize in the world, the gift of belief in God,” Kanal T chief executive Seyhan Soylu told Reuters.

Freemasons From Southern U.S. Are (Wait For It) Racist!?!

Posted by PhantomCosmonaut on July 3, 2009

Who would have thought that a secret society from one of the Southern States would object to an African American being allowed membership. It’s shocking. Albert Pike must be rolling in his grave.

Seriously though, if you ask me illumination should be blind. If they don’t make this right and retract this membership blocking, I’m gonna have to find a new secret ruling elite to look up to!

More proof that “Hobbits” were a separate species.

Posted by PhantomCosmonaut on May 6, 2009

Insert nerdy Tolkien themed joke here.

“Scientists have found more evidence that the Indonesian “Hobbit” skeletons belong to a new species of human – and not modern pygmies.

The 3ft (one metre) tall, 30kg (65lbs) humans roamed the Indonesian island of Flores, perhaps up to 8,000 years ago.

Since the discovery, researchers have argued vehemently as to the identity of these diminutive people.

Two papers in the journal Nature now support the idea they were an entirely new species of human.

The team, which discovered the tiny remains in Liang Bua cave on Flores, contends that the population belongs to the species Homo floresiensis – separate from our own grouping Homo sapiens .

They argue that the “Hobbits” are descended from a prehistoric species of human – perhaps Homo erectus – which reached island South-East Asia more than a million years ago.

Over many years, their bodies most likely evolved to be smaller in size, through a…

Russian Scientists Use Google Map to Find Yeti

Posted by PhantomCosmonaut on April 9, 2009

Pravda: The authorities of the Russian town of Kemerovo arranged a special expedition to find the yeti habitat which was discovered by Google maps.

The expedition turned to be successful. Scientists managed to find ‘fresh’ yeti footprints in the Azassky cave.

Scientists found two identical yeti footprints. One of them was left on the rock and it dates back 5,000 years ago, and the other footprint which was left not long ago was found at the bottom of the cave.

“They are absolutely identical. Five thousand years ago yetis settled down in this cave and now their descendants are still living here. The conditions in the cave are suitable for yeti. The cave defends them from rains, snow and wind. There is also a lake in the middle of the cave where yetis can find clean water,” say the scientists.
