Obama’s Approval Rating Falls Below 50 Percent For First Time
AFP reports that Obama’s leadership no longer is favored by the majority of Americans:
President Barack Obama’s job approval rating has dipped below 50 percent nationally for the first time, as Americans worry about the war in Afghanistan, a new poll released Wednesday found.
The Quinnipiac University poll showed 48 percent of Americans approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president, compared to 42 percent who disapprove. The president also scored low marks from Americans on his handling of the situation in Afghanistan, with just 38 percent saying they approved of his approach.
Government Watchdog Can’t Verify Stimulus Job Stats
EAMON JAVERS writes on the Politico:
The chief federal oversight official for the stimulus program said in a letter Wednesday that he can’t certify whether the number of jobs “created or saved” by stimulus funds is accurate.
Recovery Board Chairman Earl Devaney was responding to a request for information by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the top Republican on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. In a letter to Issa dated Nov. 17, Devaney wrote, “Your letter specifically asks if I am able to certify that the number of jobs reported as created/saved on Recovery.gov is accurate and auditable. No, I am not able to make this certification.”
The Obama administration claimed that it saved or created at least 1 million jobs this year. But errors in the stimulus job creation data…
Barack Obama Has Shares in Baxter Pharma
A news summary of the controversy over Baxter International, one of the producers of the available commercial swine flu vaccine, and an alleged connection to President Obama on FTO South Africa News Blog:
- The President of the United States, Barack Obama has shares in Baxter, the company many say is responsible for the h1n1 swine flu pandemic. Back 2005 Barack Obama bought $50,000 worth of stock in two companies.
- Right after he bought the shares also in 2005 Barack Obama (still a senator at that time) introduced the first comprehensive bill to address the threat of avian influenza pandemic. AVIAN Act (S. 969)
- Then it makes it even more interesting that over $60 million dollars was awarded for a vaccine against the bird flu (2007) that at the time did not mutate till…
Meet the New Boss
From Nick P. at Black Sun Gazette:
We’re almost a full year into the Obama regime, and over a year past his election. There is significant disconnect between the rhetoric and the reality. I was widely pilloried for not joining in the choruses of “hope and change.” While I acknowledge that most Americans voting for a black man for President represents something, I disagree with most people about what it represents.
If nothing else, having a black president highlights what black people living in urban areas run by black Democrats already know — black Democrats are dangerous hustlers, charlatans of the highest order who prey on their own people. Illusions in Obama quickly shatter in light of the reality. Despite repeated attempts by craven apologists of Obama to represent him as some…
Top Obama Advisors Want More Troops In Afghanistan
The New York Times reports on the march to perpetual war in Afghanistan occurring within the Obama administration:
Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton are coalescing around a proposal to send 30,000 or more additional American troops to Afghanistan.
Officials said that while Admiral Mullen and Mrs. Clinton were generally in sync with Mr. Gates in supporting an option of about 30,000 troops, there were variations in their positions and they were not working in lock step.

Obama’s Victory Decimated Republican Male Testosterone Levels
How much are politics tied to one’s personal sense of manliness? For liberals, not so much. For conservatives, very much so, especially in the case of one Barack Obama, who acts as an agent of chemical castration.
Wired Science has the results of a study in which the 2008 election-night testosterone levels of male Obama- and McCain-supporters were measured.
The group-wide testosterone levels of Democratic men were not affected by Obama’s victory, remaining stable throughout the night. However, for Republican males, election night 2008 was a hormonal roller coaster, and Obama’s success resulted in a plummeting of conservative male testosterone. What a bunch of weirdos.

Wall Street Bonuses to Rise 40 Percent
Douglas A. McIntyre writes in MSN Money:
There has been plenty of evidence that firms like Goldman Sachs have had such huge profits that their bonus payouts may be at all-time highs.
The federal government has systematically begun to control bank pay packages. The Treasury “pay czar” is effectively controlling compensation at companies which still owe TARP money. The Fed is pressuring other large financial firms to tie pay to risk.
None of those efforts seems to be working well, because bankers are ignoring the signals from Washington.
A new compensation survey described in the Wall Street Journal predicts that Wall Street incentive pay will rise 40% this year. For those in the fixed-income part of the industry, the increase could be closer to 60%.
Data about pay packages will be available, in some cases, as…
Noam Chomsky: War, Peace, and Obama’s Nobel
Noam Chomsky for In These Times:
The hopes and prospects for peace aren’t well aligned — not even close. The task is to bring them nearer. Presumably that was the intent of the Nobel Peace Prize committee in choosing President Barack Obama.
The prize “seemed a kind of prayer and encouragement by the Nobel committee for future endeavor and more consensual American leadership,” Steven Erlanger and Sheryl Gay Stolberg wrote in The New York Times.
The nature of the Bush-Obama transition bears directly on the likelihood that the prayers and encouragement might lead to progress.
The Nobel committee’s concerns were valid. They singled out Obama’s rhetoric on reducing nuclear weapons.
Right now Iran’s nuclear ambitions dominate the headlines. The warnings are that Iran may be concealing something from the International Atomic Energy Agency and violating U.N.…
Secret Copyright Treaty Leaks. It’s Bad, Very Bad
Many thanks to Cory Doctorow of BoingBoing for publicizing this. Certainly not change I can believe in:
The internet chapter of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, a secret copyright treaty whose text Obama’s administration refused to disclose due to “national security” concerns, has leaked. It’s bad. It says:
- That ISPs have to proactively police copyright on user-contributed material. This means that it will be impossible to run a service like Flickr or YouTube or Blogger, since hiring enough lawyers to ensure that the mountain of material uploaded every second isn’t infringing will exceed any hope of profitability.
- That ISPs have to cut off the Internet access of accused copyright infringers or face liability. This means that your entire family could be denied to the internet — and hence to civic participation, health information, education, communications,…
Is ‘V’ Anti-Obama Propaganda?
Didn’t have a chance to see the premiere, but sure do remember the original series, it was creepy TV for a kid to watch. Last I checked David Icke wasn’t running ABC, but then again, that’s the rub, we can’t tell who the lizard people are, only he can…
Jason Linkins writes on Huffington Post:
Tonight, on the teevee, ABC will relaunch the V franchise, because it sure beats having a new idea! The series’s first incarnation — which debuted on NBC as a mini-series back in 1983, spinning into a regular series that ran until 1985 — told the story of alien visitors, who arrived on our planet talking a good game about goodwill and peace, but were actually hamster-devouring creatures bent on stealing the Earth’s water, eating people, and reminding people of Nazis. By a stroke of luck, the Visitors came to Earth in uniforms with precisely the sort of epaulets and hairstyles that they needed to earn our early-1980s trust.
Now, this new series is set to launch, and with it comes the enormous fear that somehow, ABC intends it as covert anti-Obama propaganda. YES, THIS IS A TRUE THING, HAPPENING IN OUR LIVES.
Obama’s Brother in China to Launch Novel About Abusive Father (Video)
Today (Wednesday) marks the first anniversary of the election of Barack Obama as US president . The international community paid particularly close attention to Obama’s presidential campaign and the election of 2008. During his first year in office, he has grappled with pressing global issues. In the meantime, a half-brother of U.S. president Barrack Obama made a rare appearance in southern China, his home for the past seven years, to launch a novel drawing on his painful childhood under an abusive father. Mark Okoth Obama Ndesandjo — who had the same, late, father as the U.S. President — has kept a low public profile since reports surfaced last year that he was living and working in the southern Chinese capitalist and manufacturing haven of Shenzhen.
2008 Financial Collapse: An Inside Job
By Robert Singer
Maybe it’s the smoke from Mt. Vesuvius that keeps Arianna Huffington and the financial community from seeing that the economic collapse has nothing to do with the Fed “missing” the warning signs leading up to the October meltdown.
“Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.” John F. Kennedy
The Fed didn’t miss anything; the October meltdown was an inside job.
Capitalism never made sense
Professor Ebeling, the Ludwig von Mises professor of Economics at Hillsdale College, understood something was wrong when he wrote: “the perverse development and evolution of historical capitalism, the institutions necessary for a truly free-market economy have been either undermined or prevented from emerging.”
But when he claimed, “it is the principles and the meaning of a free-market economy that must be rediscovered” in order to overcome the…
The September Employment Rate is 90%
By Robert Singer
The U.S. Department of Labor Official Employment rate in September 2009 is now 90% (Unofficial rate is 75%).
And for those Americans who are still employed, they will find it harder to get that sweet deal on a new car because auto dealers won’t be competing with each other now that Brian Deese, special assistant to president Obama for economic policy made the decision (not the Chrysler bankruptcy judge), to close dealerships without regard to profitability.
Deese, age 31, in his first government position, shuffles back and forth from the West Wing to the Treasury Department dismantling the US Auto Industry and rewriting the rules of American “capitalism”. [1]
Deese’s first rule: Withdraw Credit and Liquidity.
Result – Catch 22:
The pullback in spending causes companies to cut back on inventory and…
